This will keep your pan like new
Preparation
Dishwashing liquid, sponge, white vinegar, kitchen paper
- Cleaning: Wash the new pan thoroughly with warm water and detergent to remove any protective layers, grease or small dirt left behind during production and transport.
- Drying: Wipe the pan thoroughly dry. To ensure there is no moisture left, you can warm it on the stove at low heat for a few minutes.
- Preheat: Heat the pan on the stove over medium-high heat so that the surface of the pan can better absorb the oil.
- Apply oil: Apply high-heat oil (such as vegetable oil or linseed oil) to the inside of the pan. Use a paper towel or cloth to evenly spread a thin layer of oil, as if you were giving the pan a spa treatment.
- Baking: Place the pan in the preheated oven at 180-200 degrees Celsius for one hour, upside down so that the oil does not collect on the bottom. This baking process helps the oil to penetrate deep into the metal surface and form a protective layer.
- Allow to cool: After baking, allow the pan to cool to room temperature. The oil will continue to harden and form a hard protective layer.

Tips for frying eggs in stainless steel pans
The secret to frying eggs in stainless steel pans without sticking? Heat the pan over medium heat, sprinkle a few drops of water into it. If the drops roll over the surface like beads, the pan is hot enough. Then add the oil and fry the eggs - this will largely prevent them from sticking.
Remove rainbow spots
Rainbow spots in your pan? Use a combination of water and white vinegar:
- Water + vinegar: Fill the pan with water and a little vinegar.
- Heating: Heat the water in the pan.
- Hot cleaning: Clean the pan with a scouring pad and detergent while it is still hot.
- Rinse with clean water + dry: Rinse the pan with clean water and wipe it dry.
Cleaning burnt stainless steel pans
Has your stainless steel pan turned black? For small areas, a sponge and washing-up liquid are enough. For larger areas, vinegar and water help:
- Bring vinegar + water to the boil: Fill the burnt pan halfway with vinegar and water and bring it to the boil.
- Allow to work: After boiling, turn off the stove and let the solution stand for at least 5 minutes.
- Cleaning: Pour away the vinegar solution, remove the dirt and rinse the pan with clean water. Then dry it.
