Freshly squeezed orange juice: preparation and production
✅ Preparatory work before production
1. About ingredients
The raw material for freshly squeezed orange juice is, of course, only oranges. The quality of the oranges directly affects the taste of the juice. If the orange juice you squeeze at home has a sour taste or you want to drink it with ice, you can add an appropriate amount of rock candy syrup.
2. About tools
It is recommended to use a suitable juicer to squeeze the juice and use the spiral technology at low speed. The principle of squeezing the juice is similar to twisting the water out of a towel. The temperature does not rise and the cell structure in the fruit is not destroyed. The taste of the juice is retained to the greatest extent, the squeezed juice is not easily oxidized and stratified, and the nutrients remain more intact. Compared with a manual orange press, the juice yield is higher. It is best to use a juicer that passes through the sieve several times.
✅ Production process
- Peel the oranges, leaving the pulp aside. One pound of pulp will yield about 200 ml of juice.
- Put the pulp into the juicer to extract the juice.
- Drink juice.
✅ Save method
Of course, it is best to drink freshly squeezed orange juice immediately, but if you have a small sluggish cell in your body, the best way is to freeze it. This can save a lot of effort and time and preserve the fresh orange. Home-squeezed juice also tastes better than the one sold outside and is healthier as it does not contain any additives. You can divide the fresh orange juice into small portions, seal and freeze and drink it within 7–10 days.
